SELECT LABOUR is a specialist provider of labour hire and recruitment services. We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Hydro Technician / Mechanical Fitter to join a growing manufacturing and fabrication workshop based in Acacia Ridge.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically minded individual looking for a stable, long-term role where they can take ownership of a specialised area of the workshop and develop valuable industry skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for hydrostatic pressure testing fabricated pipe spools, vessels, and associated equipment while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
About the Role
Working within a busy manufacturing and fabrication environment, you will play a key role in the operation of the hydro testing department. This position requires a hands-on individual with strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.
While previous hydrostatic testing experience is advantageous, candidates with mechanical fitting, piping, flange management, or workshop experience are encouraged to apply, as training can be provided to the right person.

Standard Hours
Monday to Thursday: 6:00am – 2:30pm
Friday: 6:00am – 12:00pm
Overtime Opportunities
Monday to Thursday: up to 4:30pm
Friday: up to 2:30pm
Saturday: 6:00am – 12:00pm
Key Responsibilities
Conduct hydrostatic pressure testing of fabricated pipe spools, vessels, and associated equipment
Perform flange management and piping assembly activities
Prepare equipment and test systems for hydro testing activities
Complete testing documentation and maintain accurate records
Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational requirements
Assist with workshop operations and equipment maintenance as required
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
Essential Requirements
Experience with flange management and piping assembly
Current Forklift Licence
Strong mechanical aptitude and workshop experience
Exceptional work ethic and reliability
Commitment to workplace health and safety
Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
Strong communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Physically fit and capable of performing manual work
Highly Regarded
Previous hydrostatic pressure testing experience
Mechanical Fitter trade qualification
Experience within fabrication, manufacturing, engineering, oil & gas, or industrial workshop environments
